Brownstone Reservoir is a lake worth visiting. This lake is located in the wonderful Sierra Madre. A wonderful nearby hotel is Ocean Gateway Inn, and Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is a great national park. So much cool stuff in the Sierra Madre, just mind-boggling. If you need a site to stay Best Western La Posada Motel is a magnificent choice; the fine people of Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura like to hang out nearby.

| | the long summer days highs here at Brownstone Reservoir get into the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 60's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Brownstone Reservoir descend into the 30's. Boulder Creek is right next door to Brownstone Reservoir and is always a diversion to check out; why not camp at Cross Campground since you're here at Brownstone Reservoir.

is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Last Chance Trail; nearby you stumble on Snow Canyon which is a tremendous spot to visit. And that's not all you can do here at Brownstone Reservoir. Whitewater paddling is
not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Piru Creek, and Brownstone Reservoir is right by the Upper Sespe River Trail. Brownstone Reservoir gets very little rain; February is the wettest month with most rain, and the
driest of the months is July.
And that's not all you can do here in the Sierra Madre. A forest near Brownstone Reservoir is Kenney Groye, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Brownstone Reservoir; Whiteacre Peak Trail is
a great local trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are some good whitewater spots on Sespe Creek, and a brilliant site to camp here at Brownstone Reservoir is Kenney Grove Park.
