Sure, Bluff Lake is in close proximity, and if the weather is lovely, you get a fine sight of Chocolate Peak from Brown Lake. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting things the Central Sierra Nevada has to offer. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Kings River Trail,       and if you have the time, Devils Postpile National Monument is a national park worth checking out. At Brown Lake you don’t see much rain; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Brown Lake get into the 90's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight                  here at Brown Lake. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Bishop-Days Inn is a great spot to get some rest; Brown Lake is a pleasant location to camp, Aspen Meadow Campground is a pleasant location. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! The Central Sierra Nevada is peerless! Don't leave Brown Lake without first going for a hike along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section; camping at Brown Lake is great fun, Willow Campground is a great local campground.
