Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Yuba River - North Fork, and naturally, this is a tremendous vicinity for people who like lakes, Bowman Lake is a lake in the vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Fordyce Creek offers some brilliant whitewater; Poison Canyon is also a great spot to explore. And if       that's not enough there's heaps more exciting stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Gotta ski! Royal Gorge is a good place to do that, and a fine place like Loney Meadow here at Bowman Lake is too tremendous to miss. What a site this is for outdoors folks. A great nearby hotel is Shinneyboo Creek Cabin Resort, and close by you find the Bowman Mountain Trail which is a great hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Very beautiful scenery and good skiing                  is what you get at Soda Springs, and going for a hike on the Crooked Lakes Trail is always a fine adventure. The amount of rain that falls at Bowman Lake is close to the national average; January is the month that gets the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. You simply have to stop at Windy Point Cliffs since you're here at Bowman Lake, and Bowman Lake is a place with many visitors from Truckee-Grass Valley. You can see Bowman Mountain from Bowman Lake, and hey, Toms Creek is a glorious local stream. Bowman Lake in fact is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. Why not camp at Weaver lake Campground while you're here at Bowman Lake, and if you need a site to stay Rainbow Lodge is a wonderful choice. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more fun things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Camping is available at McMurray Campground; you can go for a hike on the Round Lake Trail. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is peerless! An out of the ordinary thing to check out next to Bowman Lake is Weaver Dam. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. For the duration of the days of summer at Bowman Lake temperatures are regularly in the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's.
