Through the warm days of summer here at Bootleg Reservoir, high temperatures mostly reach the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and night lows at Bootleg Reservoir all through the wintertime typically descend into the 20's. Not                  much rainfall falls here at Bootleg Reservoir; through January this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is July. There is a magnificent hiking trail close to Bootleg Reservoir called the Chaos Crags Trail, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Pit River. This lake is so wonderful. A pretty lake like Bufflehead Reservoir close to Bootleg Reservoir is a nice spot to stop at. There's so much to do here at Bootleg Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Sandy Campground is a great site for that. Bootleg Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Southern Cascade Range.
