And if that's not enough there's lots more fun stuff to do in
the Central Sierra Nevada. In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tenaya Creek, and Clover Meadow Campground is a great local campground.
This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Mount Ansel Adams is clearly visible from Blue Lake; hey, Gotta ski right? June Mountain is a fine place to do that. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more fun things to do here in the Central Sierra

Nevada. San Joaquin River - Middle Fork is a magnificent whitewater spot close to Blue Lake, and a good nearby hotel is Mammoth Mountain Inn. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Blue Lake; John Muir Trail - section 1 is a tremendous local trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Rockbound Lake.
If you came for an overnight stay Granite Creek Campground is a good place to camp, and don't leave Blue Lake without first going for a hike along the John Muir Trail - section 2.
