This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent close by hotel is The Sandman Inn; there are plenty of folks from Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-Goleta here at Laguna Blanca. So much entertaining stuff in the Santa Ynez Mountains, just phenomenal. On a good day it's a great idea to spend the day at Hendrys Beach; if you've had enough of Laguna Blanca, Lauro Canyon Reservoir is nearby. At Laguna Blanca through the summertime highs are in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 60's, and night lows at Laguna Blanca throughout the wintertime frequently descend into the 30's. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Santa Ynez Mountains. Don't

forget to take a good little journey to Cieneguitas Creek, of course you could also stop at Lauro Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all. An afternoon playing golf at Santa Barbara Golf Club is always a delight; El Capitan State Beach is a great campground nearby.
And that's not all the things you can do here in the Santa Ynez Mountains. Man, is there a heap of cool things to do in the vicinity of Laguna Blanca. Put some time aside to spend at Veronica Springs while you're here at Laguna Blanca, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Tunnel Trail. Going for a hike along the Jesusita Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Pepper Tree Inn is a magnificent choice.
This lake is located in the wonderful Santa Ynez Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. The top of More Mesa is easily distinguished from Laguna Blanca, and Barger Canyon is a perfect site to spend some time. It is very dehydrated here at Laguna Blanca commonly; the month of February is the wettest with most of the rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Arroyo Burro Trail is wonderful fun; if you want to hit the beach, Hope Ranch Private Beach is nearby.

Gato Trail
14 miles away
This trail is gone without a trace, and is only visible on topographic maps dating from before the 1970s.  Even on high-resolution aerial photography, you can find no evidence that there was ever a trail here, except in the lowest portion, which is on private land, completely and irretrievably closed to entry.  The chaparral in this vicinity is old, hard, and impenetrable to anything larger than a rabbit.  I hiked the lower portion last in 1974, and it was overgrown then; I had to trespass to get there. ...(?)The trail actually no longer exists.(?)...

Hi, please take a look at the attached photo.  I took it today in La Jolla Canyon, at the water fall (dry now).  Notice that a large rock appears to be loose and or without support.  It looks like the rock is supporting the trail above.  Someone should take a closer look at that rock.  In heavy rain it could come down.  It looks unstable....
