Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is a nice local destination here at Black Rock Lake, and Black Rock Mountain is delightful and can be seen from here. Be careful coming to the Klamath Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. But wait, there's more to do next to Black Rock Lake. There are pleasant sites to look at along the North Yolla Bolly Cold Fork Trail, and camping at Black Rock Lake       is wonderful fun, Beegum Gorge Campground is a wonderful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Near Black Rock Lake you locate the Humboldt Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and why not camp at North Fork Beegum Campground while you're here at Black Rock Lake. Summer at Black Rock Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime                  are normally in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Black Rock Lake temperatures sink to the 30's. Pettijohn Basin is a delightful place; drift down the rapids of Beegum Creek in a kayak. The annual rain here at Black Rock Lake is about average; January is the wettest month with most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. Yeah, come up here to the Klamath Mountains for a glorious time. Going for a hike on the Pettijohn Trail is always a great adventure; if you come at the right time of year, Hayfork Creek offers some nice whitewater.
