Bear Valley is a perfect spot to do that, and if you come at the right time of year, Mokelumne River - North Fork offers some good whitewater. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is peerless! A pleasant journey to Ladeux Meadow is a great way to spend an afternoon, and going for a hike along the Emigrant Trail will let you absorb the natural       beauty of this region. All the water falling down from the sky makes Black Rock Lake a wet site; the wettest month of the year is regularly January, that's the one that snows the most, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors The Mountain Club is a splendid spot to spend a night or two, and if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Charity Valley Trail. Black Rock Lake is a beautiful lake in                  the Northern Sierra Nevada. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend American River - South Fork. A nice nearby hotel is The Meadow, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Kirkwood. A tour to Black Rock Lake wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Horse Thief Spring. There's so much to do here at Black Rock Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Plasse's Resort is a delightful location for that. Summertime highs at Black Rock Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Through the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Black Rock Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp LDS Camp Ritchie is a fine site to do that, and not far from Black Rock Lake you'll hit upon Beebe Lake which is a gorgeous lake. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer.
