Black Lake is not the only place nearby, River Spring Lakes is a nearby lake, and camping is available at Lower Rock Creek Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Holiday Campground while you're here at Black Lake, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Mammoth Mountain is rather near. All through the warm days of summer at Black Lake highs are typically in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter

| | this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Black Lake. A lake close by is Antelope Lake, and needless to say, all our national parks are perfect sites to stop at and Devils Postpile National Monument is no exception. Not much rainfall falls here at Black Lake; all through the month of January you get the most rain around here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. | |
