For the period of the days of summer at Black Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's with overnight lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at Black Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. What would winter be without some skiing at Mammoth Mountain. There's so much to do here at Black Lake that you need to camp here for       a while, Brown's Campground is a brilliant location for that. Devils Postpile National Monument is a good local destination here at Black Lake; if you came to camp Lower Rock Creek Campground is a magnificent place to do that.
