Whitewater paddling is                  not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Stanislaus River - Middle Fork, and there's whitewater on West Walker River for all you adrenaline kick people. At Black Hawk Lake all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are ordinarily in the 40's; overnight lows at Black Hawk Lake throughout the winter ordinarily drop into the 20's. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Black Hawk Lake without first going for a hike along the Silver King Trail, and don’t forget to stop at Lunch Meadow while you're here at Black Hawk Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
