Birch Lake is a nice lake to visit. This lake is so wonderful. Birch Lake is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Middlefork Campground is a good spot to camp nearby; a delightful location for whitewater paddling is Tuolumne River - South Fork. An average amount of precipitation falls at Birch Lake; all through January this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is July.

| | in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's while Birch Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. Birch Lake in fact is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. you can always go whitewater paddling on Cherry Creek - West Fork, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Hite Cove Trail.

dnc -- Wawona Hotel is a great place to spend a night or two; you can stay the night at Carlon Campground. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is wonderful at Dodge Ridge; nearby you come across the El Capitan Trail which is a splendid
hiking trail. And that's not everything you can do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Head up to Badger Pass and strap some skis to your feet; dry warm beds await you at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls.
