    It's always fun to stop by Birch Lake. Birch Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you adore the outdoors, you'll go for Birch Lake. The skiing at Dodge Ridge is glorious, and you can go for a hike on the El Capitan Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Central Sierra Nevada. Why not camp at Middlefork Campground since you're here at Birch Lake, and going for a hike on the Pilot Ridge Trail is always a pleasant adventure.
 
   There are brilliant spots to look at along the Hite Cove Trail. Lakes are magnificent; Swamp Lake is a lake that's close to Birch Lake. This lake is so wonderful. dnc -- Wawona Hotel is a great site to get some rest; Carlon Campground is a good local campground. The annual rain here at Birch Lake is about average; all through January this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
So many entertaining things in the Central Sierra Nevada,
 
               just striking. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Gravel Pit Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Cherry Creek - West Fork. This lake is so wonderful. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Tuolumne River - South Fork, and after a long day outdoors Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is a fine site to spend a night or two. A day on the slopes of Badger Pass is just what you need, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Preston Falls.
Summertime highs at Birch Lake generally tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Birch Lake temperatures dip to the 20's.
