     Lake Wit-So-Nah-Pah is a nearby lake that you could explore, and you can run the rapids of San Joaquin River - South Fork. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Bighorn Lake reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Bighorn Lake.
I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Bighorn Lake. June Mountain is a wonderful local
 
   ski area, and obviously, all our national parks are pleasant sites to check out and Devils Postpile National Monument is no exception. If you get bored of Bighorn Lake, you could also explore close by Lake Dorothy, and Bighorn Lake is a wonderful site to visit for more than one day, Lake Crowley Campground is a wonderful site to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Mammoth Mountain is good, and Upper McGee Creek Campground is a nice local campground.
 
               This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Bighorn Lake; Mammoth Rock Trail is a magnificent local trail; you can see Red Slate Mountain from Bighorn Lake. So many entertaining things to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada, too pleasant to be true. There's whitewater on Mono Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers; if you need a place to stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a glorious choice. Man, is there a lot of fun things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. After a long day outdoors Mammoth Lakes Travelodge is a fine site to spend a night or two, and great hiking is available along the Sherwin Lakes Trail.
It is very dried out here at Bighorn Lake typically; January is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is June. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada.
