     Lakes are such calm places, why not check out Mott Lake next to Bighorn Lake, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on San Joaquin River - South Fork. Bighorn Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Sierra Nevada. A visit to Devils Postpile National Monument is worthwhile; if you need a location to stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a wonderful choice.
Summer brings highs in the 70's to Bighorn Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into
 
   the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Bighorn Lake tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Ross Finch Lake is a great lake in close proximity to Bighorn Lake, and Rodeway Inn Sierra Nevada is a nice place to get some rest. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Bighorn Lake. Near Bighorn Lake you come across the Mammoth Rock Trail which is a great hiking trail,  
               and if you come at the right time of year, Mono Creek offers some good whitewater.
If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Sierra Nevada. The panorama of lovely Mount Izaak Walton near Bighorn Lake is wonderful, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Sherwin Lakes Trail. Yep, outdoors fun things truly is plentiful here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Camping at Upper Vermillion Campground is always a great experience; a day on the slopes of June Mountain is just what you need.
Bighorn Lake is mostly a quite arid spot; the month with most of the rain is January while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Upper McGee Creek Campground, and why not head up to Mammoth Mountain and strap some skis to your feet.
