     This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Big Valley Lake is not the only location nearby, Virginia Lakes is a nearby lake. Big Valley Lake is right by the Gaylor Lakes Trail, and you can hit the slopes at June Mountain in the vicinity.
You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada. The view
 
   of Black Mountain from Big Valley Lake is striking, unsurprisingly you could also explore Red Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 is wonderful fun; Big Valley Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Saddlebag Campground is a tremendous local campground. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Big Valley Lake. A splendid place to camp here at Big Valley  
               Lake is Sawmill Campground, and after a long day outdoors Yosemite Gateway Motel is a perfect location to spend a night or two.
Not much precipitation falls here at Big Valley Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow; October meanwhile is the driest month. For the period of the days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Big Valley Lake with overnight lows in the 30's. For the duration of the winter highs are regularly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Big Valley Lake are in the 0's. If you need a site to stay Heidelberg Inn is a good choice; going for a hike along the John Muir Trail - section 2 will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
