Big Reservoir is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. American River - Middle Fork is a delightful whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Big Reservoir, and nearby you hit upon the Green Valley Trail which is a great hiking trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. You just have to go for the Northern Sierra Nevada. You can run the rapids of American River - North Fork right next door to Big Reservoir, and

| | at Big Reservoir you always meet someone from Truckee-Grass Valley.
Through the summertime, highs generally are in the 90's at Big Reservoir, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Big Reservoir drop into the 30's. that you need to camp here for a while, Monzarita Day Use Campground is a great place for that, and since you're here, you could also check out stunning Sugar Pine Reservoir. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable
stuff at Big Reservoir. After a long day outdoors Deer Creek Inn is a wonderful location to spend a night or two; places like Elliot Meadow are fine to stop at.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Nevada City
Inn is a magnificent choice. Hayden Hill is clearly visible from Big Reservoir, and going for a hike on the American Eagle Trail is always a good adventure. A good deal of precipitation falls at Big Reservoir; of all the months in
a year January is the one with the most rain while July is typically the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. The Euchre Bar Trail is a perfect hiking trail close to Big Reservoir, and Big Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Forbes Campground is a great local campground.
