This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section; Sam Mack Meadow is a wonderful site any time of year. Big Pine Lakes is pretty waterless regularly; the month with most of the rain is January, and June on the other hand is the driest. Glacier is an out of the ordinary thing to make out while you're here at Big Pine Lakes, and Big Pine Lakes is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, First Falls Campground is a magnificent local campground.
Hiking is
a popular thing to do around Big Pine Lakes; Pacific Crest Trail - section 11 is a perfect local trail. This place, the Central Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Don't leave Big Pine Lakes without first going for
a hike along the Kings River Trail, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Kings River - Middle Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Big Pine Lakes you can spot Mount Agassiz; Agassiz Col is a great site to spend some time.
Big Pine Lakes is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. There's so much to do here at Big Pine Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Second Falls Campground is a pleasant place for that, and Devils Postpile National Monument is a very good spot to stop by.
