place to camp, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section. Big Pine Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Central Sierra Nevada. Through the months of summer highs here at
Big Pine Lakes reach the 90's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 50's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Big Pine Lakes temperatures dip to the 20's.

Sabrina Campground
 | I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories.... |

Big Trees Campground
 | The only way to drop a kayak in Kings river is a very long drive (maybe 4-5 hours) to the west side or the range, or lugging it through the wilderness (over the spine). I think I would have to give a gold medal to anyone who would lug a kayak from Big Trees to Kings river. Just a heads-up.... |

Taboose campground (Inyo County) one mile to the north on Tinemaha rd. and Tinemaha campground (Inyo County) four miles to the north, paved access from Fish Springs turn off, then up Tinemaha rd.
