it all. Go for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11. Lakes? Sure, Sixth Lake is in the neighborhood. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada, too great to be true. If you need a place to stay
Days Inn Bishop is a good choice, and if you're hooked on cool geologic features try Palisade Glacier. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Big Pine Lakes get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into
the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 50's, and night lows at Big Pine Lakes during the winter commonly sink into the 20's. It is very dehydrated here at Big Pine Lakes ordinarily; most of the rain falls all through
January, and June on the other hand is the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Devils Postpile National Monument is a brilliant local destination here at Big Pine Lakes.

Sabrina Campground
 | I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories.... |
