Going for a hike along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and the panorama of Mount Alice is scenic. All       through the warmest time of the year highs here at Big Pine Lake reach the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 50's; night lows in the 20's for Big Pine Lake. This lake is so wonderful. All our national parks are wonderful sites to visit, and Devils Postpile National Monument is no exception. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the Central Sierra Nevada has to offer.                  Big Pine Lake is a tremendous site to camp, First Falls Campground is a tremendous site, and get your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of Kings River - Middle Fork. While you're here at Big Pine Lake you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11, and Big Pine Lakes is a nearby lake that you could explore. Big Pine Lake is typically a quite dried out place; most of the rain falls throughout January, and the driest month is June. Super 8 Motel - Bishop is a pleasant location to get some rest, and a trip to Sam Mack Meadow invigorates the soul. If you go for the outdoors, you'll like Big Pine Lake. A perfect nearby hotel is Bishop-Days Inn, and hiking along the Kings River Trail is glorious fun.
