If you came for an overnight stay Upper McGee Creek Campground is a perfect place to camp; dry warm beds await you at Mammoth Creek Inn. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mono Creek. This lake is so wonderful. San Joaquin River - South Fork has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and everyone nearby loves skiing at June Mountain.       This lake is so wonderful. There's magnificent hiking along the Mammoth Rock Trail; do have a look at Little McGee Lake, it's a striking lake. Not much precipitation falls here at Big McGee Lake; throughout January this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is June. A tour to Devils Postpile National Monument is recommended, and don't leave Big McGee Lake without first going for a hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail. Mammoth Mountain is                  a glorious local ski area, and a charming lake like Crocker Lake is a wonderful place to take a look at. During the summer months here at Big McGee Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Big McGee Lake temperatures descend to the 20's. Big McGee Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things right next door to Big McGee Lake. While staying at Big McGee Lake you could always discover Hopkins Pass; Mammoth Lakes Travelodge is a perfect location to get some rest.
