Big Margaret Lake is pretty arid regularly; the month with most of the rain is January while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Sierra Nevada, and hiking along the Mammoth Rock Trail is pleasant fun. This lake is so wonderful. A beautiful lake like Baby Lake close to Big Margaret Lake is a great spot to pop by, and if you're here you can take a hike along the       Red Mountain Trail. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Upper Vermillion Campground is a fine campground here, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Sierra Summit is pretty near. And if that's not enough there's a heap more cool stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. You can run the rapids of Mono Creek in close proximity to Big Margaret Lake, and the top of Cockscomb is easily spotted                  from Big Margaret Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious location for whitewater paddling next to Big Margaret Lake is San Joaquin River - South Fork, and camping at Big Margaret Lake is nice fun, Vermilion Campground is a nice local campground. Devils Postpile National Monument is a very great place to visit near Big Margaret Lake, and going for a hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Just can't get enough of the Central Sierra Nevada. A day on the slopes of Mammoth Mountain is just what you need, and after a long day outdoors Juniper Springs Resort is a good place to spend a night or two. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Big Margaret Lake. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's.
