Why not take a refreshing hike along the Dan East Trail, and camping at Slide Creek Campground is always a wonderful experience. Big Lake is right by the Grouse Creek Tractor Trail, unsurprisingly you could also stop at Lake Mountain since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of people from Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna come to Big Lake. Big Lake is       located in the Coast Ranges. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Coast Ranges, too nice to be true. Paddling on Trinity River - South Fork is so much fun; Big Lake is not the only place close by, Hidden Lake is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Trinity River, and don't forget to take a great little visit to Bidden Creek. This place, Big Lake, it simply has so much outdoors cool stuff. You need to check                  out China Slide if you're here at Big Lake, and Big Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Gray Falls Campground is a perfect local campground. All year is a perfect time in the Coast Ranges if you have a thing about the outdoors. If you fancy a little side journey, try Box Canyon, and hiking along the Blake Trail is delightful fun. The high level of rain makes Big Lake a pretty wet location; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is July. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Big Lake. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's.
