While you're here at Big Lake, you could also go to wonderful Green Place Reservoir, and the vistas at Lassen Volcanic National Park will blow your mind. Throughout the summer at Big Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and winter nights       come with lows in the 20's to Big Lake. Big Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; December is the month that gets the most snow; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Big Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cassel Campground is a tremendous location for that, and a fine swamp in close proximity to Big Lake is Hollenbeak Swamp. Having a magnificent time in the Southern Cascade Range                  is easy. You'll come across a gorgeous lake called Horr Pond near Big Lake; get your pulse rate up on the pleasant whitewater of Pit River.
