If you are in Shasta county it's always a good idea to stop by Big Lake. Big Lake is one of the lakes here in the Southern Cascade Range. Bunchgrass Creek is a magnificent local stream, and Big Lake is right by the Chaos Crags Trail. That right there is lots already, but it carries on; Big Lake has it all. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bunchgrass Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Heart Lake Twin Meadows Trail, and a trip to Lassen

| | Volcanic National Park is worthwhile. All year is a fine time in the Southern Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. Camping at Mill Creek RV Park is always a good experience; after a long day outdoors Bailey Creek Cottages is a nice place to spend a night or two. All the water falling down from the sky makes Big Lake a wet spot; all through the month of January you get the most snow around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month.

enough to spend more than a day at, Bunchgrass Campground is a brilliant local campground, and a fine vista of scenic Huckleberry Mountain is available. At Big Lake through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's, and the overnight
is a bit cooler of course, typically in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while Big Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
