Go to Big Lagoon if you want to go to a nice lake. There's wonderful hiking along the Ben Johnson Trail. There's so much to do here at Big Lagoon that you need to camp here for a while, Battery Mendell Campground is a brilliant place for that. This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do right next door to Big Lagoon. A visit to Muir Woods National Monument is recommended, and splendid hiking is available along the Bootjack Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A journey to Pirates Cove near Big Lagoon is always a
magnificent idea, and Tennessee Valley Dam is a picturesque site, without doubt worth taking a look at. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Big Lagoon has to offer, you can camp at Haypress Campground, and Rodeo Beach
is relatively close by if you're in a beach type of mood. Looking for some flowing water? Try Kent Creek; if you want to hit the beach, Muir Beach is close by.
High temperatures at Big Lagoon through the summer months are in the
80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 40's for Big Lagoon. You're sure to encounter some fine people from San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont here, and if you need a place to stay Mill Valley Inn is a splendid choice.
