     Not much rain falls here at Big Horn Lake; January is when you get the most snow here; October is when it's the driest. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Central Sierra Nevada. If the weather is nice here at Big Horn Lake, you can go for a hike along the Gaylor Lakes Trail, and of course, this is a good region for people who like lakes, Finger Lake is a lake in close proximity. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada, not enough  
   time. Conness Glacier is an exciting thing to see while you're here at Big Horn Lake, and Big Horn Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Saddlebag Campground is a great place to camp nearby.
If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Big Horn Lake. Hit the slopes at June Mountain close at hand; the top of Mount Conness is easily spotted from Big Horn Lake. Summertime at Big Horn Lake comes with high temperatures
 
               in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 40's, and nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Big Horn Lake tend to be in the 0's.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Green Treble Lake, and if you need a site to stay Heidelberg Inn is a good choice. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid location for whitewater paddling near Big Horn Lake is Tuolumne River, and close by you locate the John Muir Trail - section 2 which is a nice hiking trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the perfect whitewater of Tenaya Creek, and the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 is a tremendous hiking trail close by. Dry warm beds await you at Yosemite Gateway Motel, and Sawmill Campground is a magnificent local campground.
