Why not stop by Big Elk Lake if you're passing through these parts. So much entertaining stuff in the Klamath Mountains, just remarkable. Baymont Inn Yreka is a nice place to get some rest. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Big Elk Lake highs are usually in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 40's with temperatures at Big Elk Lake dipping down into the 30's through

| | winter nights. Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Big Elk Lake. If the weather is great here at Big Elk Lake, you can go for a hike along the Boundary National Recreation Trail; a good spot for whitewater paddling is Wooley Creek.
This lake is so wonderful. From Big Elk Lake you obtain a wonderful vista of Marble Mountain; while you're here you can take a hike along the Tanners Peak Trail. Have a great hiking | |

adventure along the Garden Gulch Trail, and Dads Pocket is a tremendous spot to stretch your legs a bit. There's so much to do here at Big Elk Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sulphur Springs Campground is a pleasant place
for that, and do stop by Rainy Lake, it's a delightful lake.
Big Elk Lake is located in the Klamath Mountains. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Klamath Mountains. If you came to camp Spring Flat Campground
is a great location to do that, and Salmon River - North Fork is a good whitewater spot close by. Big Elk Lake gets a lot of water; the wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is July.
