Summer brings highs in the 90's to Big Carmen Lake. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. All through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 40's; during the dark hours in the winter at Big Carmen Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. Paddling on Coffee Creek is so much fun; hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 18 is wonderful fun. Whohoo, so many cool things       in one place! Big Carmen Lake is great! Camping at Scott Mountain Campground is always a fine experience, and Trinity River has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Big Carmen Creek flows through this vicinity. After a long day outdoors Baymont Inn Yreka is a wonderful location to spend a night or two, and Grouse Creek Lake is a perfect lake nearby. Big Carmen Lake gets very little precipitation; of all the months in a year                  December is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Scott Mountain is a peak you can make out from Big Carmen Lake, and Big Carmen Lake is right by the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail. Lakes? Sure, Little Carmen Lake is nearby; a brilliant place to camp here at Big Carmen Lake is Pinewood Cove Resort.
