There's good hiking along the Sawtooth Pass Trail, and you can stay the night at Cold Spring Campground. For the period of the warmest time of the year here at Big Bird Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's while the cold       winter nights at Big Bird Lake are in the 20's. Elizabeth Pass is close to Big Bird Lake and is a wonderful site; after a long day outdoors Western Holiday Lodge Three Rivers is a great location to spend a night or two. An average amount of rainfall falls at Big Bird Lake; the month with most of the rain is January; the driest month of the year is July.
