After a long day outdoors Best Western Vineyard Inn is a great location to spend a night or two, and Patterson Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop by. A nice spot to camp here at Bethany Reservoir is Vasco Mobile Home Park; get yourself into a kayak and hit Arroyo Valle River. | | is a fine local campground. Throughout the summer at Bethany Reservoir temperatures are generally in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 60's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 50's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Bethany Reservoir plunge into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on Arroyo Mocho River, and since you're here you can play some golf at Mountain House Golf | |

Course. Bethany Reservoir is regularly a rather arid place; January is the month that gets the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. La Quinta Inn Livermore is a good spot to get some rest, and do stop at Clifton Court Forebay, it's a lovely lake.

Carnegie Ohv State Recreation
 | ...hicle fans of all skill levels. Open riding, trail riding, a motocross track, and a beginner track are all available for dirt bike use.
Carnegie SVRA has dry rocky washes, rolling hills, and steep, rugged canyons. Riders will find a variety of terrain, including some extremely challenging hills. The park is home to a beautiful display of spring wildflowers. If you look closely you'll see animal life, including red-tailed hawks, golden eagles, black-tailed deer, coyotes, and bobcats.
There are 23 designated campsites and overflow camping available to the public. Carnegie is a great place to spend the night recovering from a hard day's riding and preparing for the next day. Camping is only $10. 00 per night per vehicle and is available on a first-come, first served basis. Call ahead during the winter riding season to make sure sites are available, as the campground fills early on weekends (925) 447-9027.

 | 10 miles away 1 PHOTO This is a seasonal creek, not a river. The picture below is from early April. The only possible way to kayak or raft this would be during or immediately after a major storm. And the brush on the creek banks would likely be your undoing. I've never heard of anyone ever kayaking this creek.
