You just can't picture the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area near Berts Lake has to offer. There are other places here than Berts Lake, for example Loon Lake, and the peak of Chipmunk Bluff can be made out from Berts Lake. American River - South Fork has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Alpine Meadows if you're here. This lake is so       wonderful. Poison Hole is a wonderful location here at Berts Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada. There's brilliant hiking along the Loon Lake Trail, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Silver Creek - South Fork. During the months of summer at Berts Lake highs are typically in                  the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Berts Lake are in the 20's. Berts Lake is a splendid place to visit for more than one day, Wentworth Springs Campground is a splendid place to camp nearby; Mineral Springs is a splendid local attraction. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Berts Lake; Sun Rock Trail is a great local trail, and you can never get enough of the splendid skiing at Homewood. Yep, outdoors fun things truly is bountiful here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Berts Lake without first going for a hike along the Poison Hole Trail, and not far from Berts Lake you'll come across Francis Lake which is a wonderful lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Berts Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pleasant Boat-In Campground, and after a long day outdoors Squaw Valley Lodge is a nice place to spend a night or two. Berts Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; January is the wettest month with most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
