Why not take a refreshing hike along the John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section, and if you came for an overnight stay Birch Campground is a good place to camp. Summer at Bench Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. one of those nearby. Not much precipitation falls here at Bench Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Aberdeen Resort

Store has RV supplies, groceries, fishing tackle, beer, sodas, and ICE available. We also offer free WiFi access at the store, also on site coin-op laundry facility. Goodale creek flows through the resort. We also have an RV sales office offering Cavco brand Park model cabins for sale. Many spaces available, also spaces on the creek. The mountain view is spectacular. We are located between Taboose and Saw Mill Trail heads. Aberdeen is also in the winter range for the mule deer heard that comes out of Kings Canyon National Park. There are a number of activities available right out of Aberdeen, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, prospecting, or rock hounding with many dirt roads, and trails that one could spend the day on.

 | 17 miles away I have such fond memories of family trips to Sabrina and camping just up from the lake on the stream side. Don't know what the campground name was or even if it had a name back in thoes days. It was every summer in 1960's. First went there when I was a baby. My parents packed back in several times. Anyway, my Dad died a few months ago and he always said he wanted to go back before he died. I like to think that he is there somewhere fishing that stream by the campground that we all loved so much. Fond Fond memories.... |
