After a long day outdoors Heidelberg Inn is a perfect site to spend a night or two; going for a hike on the Sherwin Lakes Trail is always a brilliant adventure. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. At Beck Lakes you can see Iron Mountain, and Deadhorse Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. During the warm months, highs mostly       are in the 90's at Beck Lakes. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's while Beck Lakes nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. Just can't get enough of the Central Sierra Nevada. A splendid nearby hotel is Mammoth Mountain Inn; Beck Lakes is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Reds Meadow Campground is a tremendous local campground.                  This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Minaret Falls Campground is a great place to do that; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Mono Creek. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in close proximity to Beck Lakes. Do visit Holcomb Lake in the neighborhood of Beck Lakes, it's a stunning lake; the skiing at June Mountain is nice. There is a good hiking trail close to Beck Lakes called the John Muir Trail - section 2, and Mammoth Mountain is a nice local ski area. This lake is so wonderful. Near Beck Lakes you stumble on the Mammoth Rock Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and if you come at the right time of year, San Joaquin River - Middle Fork offers some pleasant whitewater.
