Beartrap Lake is generally a relatively dry spot; most of the rain falls through January; June on the other hand is the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central       Sierra Nevada. Here at Beartrap Lake you can catch a sight of Mount Hilgard, and San Joaquin River - South Fork is a fine whitewater spot nearby. A charming lake like Bear Paw Lake next to Beartrap Lake is a good location to check out, and there are good sites to explore along the Mammoth Rock Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Beartrap Lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Beartrap Lake has to offer, you can camp at Mosquito Flat                  Campground, and going for a hike on the Sherwin Lakes Trail is always a glorious adventure.
