    A visit to Beartrap Lake is always a good idea. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Sierra Nevada is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and in the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mono Creek. Beartrap Lake is generally a relatively dry spot; most of the rain falls through January; June on the other hand is the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central  
   Sierra Nevada. Here at Beartrap Lake you can catch a sight of Mount Hilgard, and San Joaquin River - South Fork is a fine whitewater spot nearby.
A charming lake like Bear Paw Lake next to Beartrap Lake is a good location to check out, and there are good sites to explore along the Mammoth Rock Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Beartrap Lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Beartrap Lake has to offer, you can camp at Mosquito Flat
 
               Campground, and going for a hike on the Sherwin Lakes Trail is always a glorious adventure. This lake is so wonderful.
All the outdoors fun stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back persistently. Visiting Devils Postpile National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and the slopes of Mammoth Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Mammoth Creek Inn is a splendid site to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Beartrap Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lower Blayney Campground is a magnificent place for that.
Summertime highs at Beartrap Lake generally tend to be in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Through the wintertime highs are frequently in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Beartrap Lake.
