Go to Bear Wallow if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's wonderful hiking along the Clear Creek National Recreation Trail; get soaked paddling on Trace Creek. And if that's not enough there's a lot more fun stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. Getting to Chicago Creek from Bear Wallow is uncomplicated. Lots of rainfall falls at Bear Wallow; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is

| | July. Just can't get enough of the Coast Ranges. Oregon Caves National Monument is a brilliant national park, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Hurdygurdy Creek. This lake is located in the wonderful Coast Ranges. Stay the night at Twin Pines Cafe and RV, and Chicago Peak is a peak you can make out from Bear Wallow. Whisky Lake is one of those nearby. Summertime highs at Bear Wallow ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; night lows at Bear Wallow through the wintertime frequently drop into the 30's.
