    If you are in this part of California make sure to pay a visit to Bear River Reservoir. Don't forget to take a nice little visit to Sugar Pine Creek; don’t forget to have a look at Deer Valley while you're here at Bear River Reservoir. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Bear River Reservoir. Everybody close by loves skiing at Bear Valley, and a nice spot to camp here at Bear River Reservoir is Salt Springs Campground.

   can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. Ham Spring is a striking place to visit while you're at Bear River Reservoir; there are splendid places to explore along the Emigrant Trail. High temperatures at Bear River Reservoir throughout the summer are in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Bear River Reservoir temperatures  
               fall to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Hawley Grade Trail, and a good nearby hotel is Bear Valley Lodge.
And that's not all the things you can do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Gotta ski! Kirkwood is a splendid place to do that, and camping at Lower Bear River Campground is always a good experience. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Mokelumne River - North Fork next to Bear River Reservoir, and don't leave Bear River Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Windmiller Trail. Bear River Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
American River - South Fork is a tremendous whitewater spot close to Bear River Reservoir, and if you need a spot to stay Tamarack Pines Inn is a magnificent choice. The high level of rain makes Bear River Reservoir a reasonably wet spot; most of the snow falls throughout January while July is mostly the driest month.
