    Go to Bear Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. All the outdoors exciting stuff close to Bear Lake will keep you coming back time and again. There are some good whitewater spots on Klamath River, and if you get bored of Bear Lake you could also visit close by Lower Bear Lake. Bear Lake gets a lot of water; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest of the months is July. All through the days of summer at Bear Lake highs are typically in the  
   80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Bear Lake.
The Coast Ranges scenery is always beautiful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Coast Ranges. If you came for an overnight stay Dillion Creek Campground is a nice spot to camp, and Bear Lake is not the only spot close by, Dry Lake is a close by lake. The peak of Bear Peak
 
               can be distinguished from Bear Lake, and Bear Lake lays in the shadow of the Kelsey Range.
But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Trace Creek, and don't leave Bear Lake without first going for a hike along the Clear Creek National Recreation Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Oregon Caves National Monument is a national park worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. You might want to pay a visit to Bear Valley since you're here at Bear Lake, and getting to Little Bear Valley Creek from Bear Lake is easy.
Pick-aw-Ish Campground is a magnificent local campground, and splendid hiking is available along the Summit Valley Trail.
