This lake is so wonderful. Circle Seven Guest Ranch is a delightful local campground, and Bear Mountain can be made out from Bear Lake. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range, not enough time. Have a splendid hiking adventure along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 17, and if you need a place to stay Dunsmuir Inn & Suites is a fine choice. Just can't get enough of Bear Lake. Paddling on Pit River is so much fun, and a lake close by is

| | Toad Lake. All through the days of summer at Bear Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Highs all through the wintertime are usually in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Bear Lake are in the 10's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Cascade Range. It is very dried out here at Bear Lake typically; the month with most of the snow is December, and July is the month with the least moisture. | |

There's no way someone can get bored here in the Southern Cascade Range. Bear Lake is right by the Coal Mine Trail. Take a hike on the Rough and Ready Trail, and get dripping wet paddling on Pit River. If you came for an overnight
stay Harris Spring Campground is a magnificent place to camp, and if you get bored of Bear Lake you could also go to nearby White Deer Lake.
