At Bear Lake you can distinguish Spring Valley Mountain, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Yellow Creek Trail. Lots of precipitation falls at Bear Lake; during January this area sees the most snow, and July is when it's the driest. Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more fun things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A good nearby hotel is       Bailey Creek Cottages; since you're here at Bear Lake it's a good idea to visit Grassy Flat. At Bear Lake during the warm months highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; nighttime lows at Bear Lake through the winter ordinarily dip into the 20's. A scenic lake like Spring Valley Lake near Bear Lake is a tremendous location to visit; the Lassen Trail is a magnificent hiking                  trail nearby. Bear Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Injun Jim Campground is a wonderful local campground, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Carter Meadow Trail. You'll locate a stunning lake called Long Lake near Bear Lake; if you came to camp Philbrook Lake Campground is a great spot to do that. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Feather River - North Fork, and why not take a little tour to Frying Pan Creek while you're here.
