There's so much to do here at Bear Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pleasant Boat-In Campground is a pleasant spot for that; going for a hike on the General Creek Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Don't leave Bear Lake without first going for a hike along the Big Spring Trail; Silver Creek - South Fork is a good whitewater spot close by. Bear Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Wentworth Springs Campground       is a great local campground; you can see Barker Peak from Bear Lake. That right there is a load of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. If you need a spot to stay Village at Squaw Valley is a great choice; Homewood is a glorious local ski area. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Go for a hike on the Highland Trail, and in case you don’t have a problem                  getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on American River - South Fork. Yeah, come here to Bear Lake for a good time. You'll discover a pretty lake called Mud Lake near Bear Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Granlibakken Lodge and Conference Center. Places like Barker Meadow are pleasant to pop by; everybody close by loves skiing at Alpine Meadows. For the period of the warm days of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Bear Lake. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Bear Lake throughout the wintertime mostly fall into the 10's.
