Near Bear Gulch Reservoir you come across the Chalone Peak Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. A glorious spot to camp here at Bear Gulch Reservoir is Chalone Creek Campground, and if you desire a little side tour, try Bear Gulch.
A great view of striking Mount Defiance
    is available from Bear Gulch Reservoir, and Hollister Hills State Park is a pleasant location. This lake is so wonderful. Moses Spring is always fun to check out, and going for a hike on the High Peaks Trail is always a good adventure.
