It's always fun to stop by Baxter Lakes. There is a good hiking trail close to Baxter Lakes called the Mount Whitney Trail, and you can stay the night at Sawmill Creek Campground. Baxter Lakes is frequently a relatively dried up location; the wettest month of the year is frequently January, that's the one that rains the most; June is the month with the least moisture. There's so much to do here at Baxter Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Symmes Creek Campground is a good site for that, and there are other places here than Baxter Lakes, for example Dollar Lake. Baxter Lakes is charming; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Baxter Creek. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Baxter Lakes you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11, and dry warm beds
await you at Best Western Frontier Motel. During the summertime months at Baxter Lakes temperatures are regularly in the 90's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 50's
with temperatures at Baxter Lakes dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Baxter Lakes is located in the Southern Sierra Nevada.

The mountain view is spectacular. We are located between Taboose and Saw Mill Trail heads. Aberdeen is also in the winter range for the mule deer heard that comes out of Kings Canyon National Park. There are a number of activities available right out of Aberdeen, fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, prospecting, or rock hounding with many dirt roads, and trails that one could spend the day on.
