This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Sheep Creek Trail is pleasant fun; Battalion Lake is a great place to camp, North Lake Campground is a great place. Finger Peak is striking and can be distinguished from Battalion Lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Battalion Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sabrina Campground. For the period of the summer months, highs       typically are in the 70's at Battalion Lake. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Battalion Lake. It is very arid here at Battalion Lake generally; January is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is June. A lake close by is Ambition Lake, and the Don Cecil Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is one of                  the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada.
