     Bathtub Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Upper Vermillion Campground is a brilliant local campground, and after a long day outdoors Bigwood is a delightful location to spend a night or two. Not much rain falls here at Bathtub Lake; through January this area sees the most rain; June meanwhile is the driest month. Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to return back home again. There's so much to do here  
   at Bathtub Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Vermilion Campground is a nice spot for that; Snowcreek Resort is a great place to get some rest.
The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Paddling on San Joaquin River - South Fork is so much fun, and Mammoth Mountain is a very popular ski area close by. Throughout the summertime here at Bathtub Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down
 
               into the 40's. Highs throughout the wintertime are mostly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Bathtub Lake are in the 20's.
This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Sierra Summit and strap some skis to your feet; not far from Bathtub Lake you'll discover Cockscomb Lakes which is a charming lake. Lakes? Sure, Rainbow Lake is around here. That right there is heaps of exciting things already but it goes on, the Central Sierra Nevada has it all. Take a hike on the Mammoth Rock Trail, and a visit to Devils Postpile National Monument is recommended.
Man, is there a heap of exciting things to do close to Bathtub Lake. Hiking along the Sherwin Lakes Trail is wonderful fun, and at Bathtub Lake you can catch a glimpse of Cockscomb. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Mono Creek, and going for a hike along the Red Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
