Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Barney Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. These mountains rock, just explore all the fun things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Stay the night at Buckeye Campground, and the summit of Cirque Mountain can be seen from Barney Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Robinson Lakes       is close to Barney Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, West Walker River offers some tremendous whitewater. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Sierra Nevada. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Early Emigrant and Indian Trail, and Barney Lake is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, Paho Campground is a glorious place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Barney Lake gets very                  little precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically January, that's the one that snows the most, and September is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Tuolumne River, and the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 offers hiking at its best. If you love the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Barney Lake. Take a hike on the Ten Lakes Trail, and The Ahwahnee is a nice site to get some rest. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada.
