    Go to Barney Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Barney Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Little Lake is close by, and Paho Campground is a fine local campground.
All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back many times. Going for a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and Cirque
 
   Mountain is delightful and can be seen from here. For the period of the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Barney Lake. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Barney Lake are in the 10's. It is very dehydrated here at Barney Lake mostly; January is when you get the most snow here, and September is when it's the driest.
Yeah, come up here to
 
               the Central Sierra Nevada for a good time. The Ahwahnee is a good place to get some rest; get yourself into a kayak and hit Tuolumne River. This lake is so wonderful. Buckeye Campground is a perfect campground nearby; get wet paddling on West Walker River. While you're here at Barney Lake you can take a hike along the Early Emigrant and Indian Trail, and if you wish for a little side journey, try Little Slide Canyon.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. There are other sites here than Barney Lake, for example Robinson Lakes, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Ten Lakes Trail.
