I fish this lake every year and have never be skunked, I use my float tube , and sometimes just relax and fish from the bank, either way I have always been successful. I use spinners , flies and night crawlers. fishing here is best in the early morning and late afternoon. camping here is excellent also, bring warm clothing , and remember to keep it clean

    The beauty of Bare Island Lake is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Bare Island Lake has to offer, you can camp at Fresno Dome Campground, and perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Iron Lakes is just a very short distance away. Bare Island Lake is a good location of typical rainfall; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is generally the driest month. If  
   you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Bare Island Lake. You get a great vista of Iron Mountain from Bare Island Lake, and if you need a place to stay Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite is a great choice.
Now, you may imagine that's heaps but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. There's perfect hiking along the Buena Vista Trail, and Oakhurst Days Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest. Get your heart
 
               pumping on the tremendous whitewater of Willow Creek; you should absolutely dedicate some time to Cold Springs Meadow if you're here at Bare Island Lake. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful.
Summertime highs at Bare Island Lake generally tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter highs are commonly in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Bare Island Lake. Go for a hike on the Chilnualna Fall Trail, and Bare Island Lake is a wonderful spot to visit for more than one day, Beasore Meadows Campground is a wonderful spot to camp nearby. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Bare Island Lake.
Don't leave Bare Island Lake without first going for a hike along the Mono Meadow Trail, and naturally, all our national parks are good sites to pop by and Yosemite National Park is no exception. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Central Sierra Nevada rocks! There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Badger Pass, and Grizzly Pass is another delightful place to go to nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Merced River - South Fork for all you adrenaline kick people, unsurprisingly you could also have a look at Junction Lake if you're here; it's not far at all.
