I fish this lake every year and have never be skunked, I use my float tube , and sometimes just relax and fish from the bank, either way I have always been successful. I use spinners , flies and night crawlers. fishing here is best in the early morning and late afternoon. camping here is excellent also, bring warm clothing , and remember to keep it clean

     Everybody nearby loves skiing at Badger Pass; Yosemite National Park is a very delightful location to have a look at. The amount of rainfall that falls at Bare Island Lake is close to the national average; January is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is July. High temperatures at Bare Island Lake during the summer months are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in  
   the 40's while Bare Island Lake night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 20's.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite is a splendid choice; Bare Island Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Fresno Dome Campground is a magnificent local campground. If the weather is great here at Bare Island Lake, you can go for a hike along the Mono Meadow Trail, and Grizzly Pass is a brilliant place
 
               to spend some time. This lake is so wonderful. The Buena Vista Trail is a tremendous hiking trail near Bare Island Lake, and do explore Iron Lakes, it's a striking lake.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the area in the neighborhood of Bare Island Lake has to offer. A pleasant place for whitewater paddling close to Bare Island Lake is Merced River - South Fork; you'll find a delightful lake called Junction Lake. And that's not all you can do here at Bare Island Lake. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Willow Creek, and going for a hike along the Chilnualna Fall Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
Bare Island Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada. There's so much to do here at Bare Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Beasore Meadows Campground is a brilliant place for that, and Iron Mountain is a peak you can see from Bare Island Lake. A nice nearby hotel is Days Inn Oakhurst Yosemite; Cold Springs Meadow is a perfect location to stretch your legs a bit.
