mike lapschies: I fish this lake every year and have never be skunked, I use my float tube , and sometimes just relax and fish from the bank, either way I have always been successful. I use spinners , flies and night crawlers. fishing here is best in the early morning and late afternoon. camping here is excellent also, bring warm clothing , and remember to keep it clean

a great idea to visit Cold Springs Meadow. These mountains rock, just look at all the enjoyable things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Star Lakes, and
get drenched paddling on Willow Creek. Really good skiing awaits you at Badger Pass; Oakhurst Days Inn is a fine place to get some rest. Bare Island Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. There are good places
to look at along the Buena Vista Trail, and if you need a place to stay Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite is a fine choice. A typical amount of rain falls here at Bare Island Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain,
and July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Merced River - South Fork; nearby Grizzly Pass is a good place to go. You definitely ought to go for the Central Sierra Nevada. If
time allows, Yosemite National Park is a national park worth going to; nearby you locate the Chilnualna Fall Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail.
