Backbone Lake is a wet location that gets lots of rain; January is the wettest month with most snow; the driest month of the year is July. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Southern Cascade Range. Cirque Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and if you came to camp Butcher Gulch Campground is a great spot to
do that. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Bailey Creek Cottages is a good choice.

The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows all through the winter for Backbone Lake tend to be in the 10's. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff near Backbone Lake. On a wonderful day you

obtain a panorama of Flat Top from Backbone Lake, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Heart Lake Twin Meadows Trail. And if that's not enough there's plenty more amusing stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range. While you're here at Backbone Lake you can take a hike along the Chaos Crags Trail, and if you're looking for a splendid spree, Lassen Volcanic National Park is quite near.

This lake is so wonderful. Places like Huckleberry Meadows are good to take a look at. There's so much to do here at Backbone Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cutter Place Campground is a great location for that.
While you're here at Backbone Lake, you could also have a look at pretty Huckleberry Lake, and paddling on Pit River is so much fun.
