If you're here at Azalea Lake and you like golf, you can check out Tahoe Donner Golf Course, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Lola Montez Trail. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. Onion Creek Campground is a delightful campground here, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are commonly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Azalea Lake are in the 20's.
Azalea Lake is a wet location that gets a good deal
of rainfall; January is the wettest month with most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Azalea Lake is perfect fun, Van Norden Campground is a perfect local campground, and almost
certainly you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Crater Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Boreal and strap some skis to your feet, and if you need a site to stay The Inn At Truckee is a
tremendous choice.
Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You can see Donner Peak from Azalea Lake; Castle Valley is close by, and is a tremendous place.
And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more enjoyable things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Do set aside some time for Billy Mack Flat while you're here at Azalea Lake, and this is a fine location in the shadow of the Horse
Range.
Azalea Lake really is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Fordyce Creek, and do take a hike on the Painted Rock Trail.
