What a nice lake Avalanche Lake is. Avalanche Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Doc and Al's Robinson Creek Resort; let's not forget Blacksmith Creek which is a stream that you may come across while you're here. Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. While you're here at Avalanche Lake you can take a hike along the Gaylor Lakes Trail,

| | and Horsetail Falls is a delightful place to visit while you're at Avalanche Lake. And if that's not sufficient there's heaps more amusing stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Nearby lakes? Sure, Barney Lake is close to Avalanche Lake, and Avalanche Lake is a glorious site to visit for more than one day, Paho Campground is a glorious site to camp nearby. is generally the driest month. You feel that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Looking for something near Avalanche Lake? Glenberry Lake is in the vicinity, and Burro Pass is in the neighborhood, and is a magnificent spot.
This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is fine on West Walker River; you can have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12. If you need a site to stay Yosemite Gateway Motel is a fine choice;
you can spot Finger Peaks from Avalanche Lake. For the duration of the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Avalanche Lake. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 30's. All through the wintertime this place
gets highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Avalanche Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. If the weather is nice here at Avalanche Lake, you can go for a hike along the Ten Lakes Trail, and get dripping wet paddling on Tuolumne River.
