The top of Finger Peaks is easily spotted from Avalanche Lake, and while you're here, you could stop at Blacksmith Creek. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Avalanche Lake. You'll locate a stunning lake called Glacier Lake near Avalanche Lake, and West Walker River has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby. Avalanche Lake gets very little rainfall; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and October meanwhile is the driest month.                  Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. You might want to pay a visit to Burro Pass if you're here at Avalanche Lake, and hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 is delightful fun. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Avalanche Lake. Summer night lows plunge down to the 30's.
