This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on West Walker River, and you acquire a great vista of Acker Peak from here. Not much precipitation falls here at Arndt Lake; throughout the       month of January you get the most rain around here while July is regularly the driest month. Good hiking is available along the Ten Lakes Trail, and Best Western Ruby Inn is a great location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Arndt Lake; John Muir Trail - section 1 is a fine local trail; Tuolumne River is a delightful whitewater spot close by. Why not camp at Tenaya Lake Campground while you're here at Arndt Lake,                  and you can go for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 12. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do in the neighborhood of Arndt Lake. Camping is available at Paho Campground. All through the warm days of summer here at Arndt Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's while night lows are typically in the 50's.
