This lake is so wonderful. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mammoth Mountain, and don't leave Anona Lake without first going for a hike along the John Muir Trail - section 2. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. You'll come across a charming lake called Ashley Lake near Anona Lake, and perfect hiking is available along the Mammoth Rock Trail. Don't you       try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Anona Lake. Stairway Meadow is a great location; camping at Reds Meadow Campground is always a tremendous experience. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Minaret Falls Campground is a tremendous site to do that; hiking is a popular thing to do around Anona Lake; Sherwin Lakes Trail is a good local trail. So much fun stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada, not enough time. 1849 Condos at Canyon                  Lodge is a great place to get some rest, and the panorama of picturesque Granite Stairway is great. The yearly rainfall here at Anona Lake is about average; January is the month that gets the most rain, and June is the month with the least moisture. At Anona Lake all through the warm months highs are in the 90's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's; after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Anona Lake descend into the 20's. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Really good skiing awaits you at June Mountain, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend San Joaquin River - Middle Fork.
