Yeah, come here to American Lake for a great time. Camping at Lovers Leap Campground is always a great experience, and the Windmiller Trail offers hiking at its best. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You could also explore Channel Lake if you're here at American Lake; it's close by; if you need a location to stay Pine Cone Acre Motel is a wonderful choice.       Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Hit the slopes at Kirkwood around here, and a visit to Horsetail Falls will fill your spirit with great feelings. So much entertaining stuff to do here at American Lake, too splendid to be true. Time spent at Baldwin Beach close to American Lake is always great, and a lake nearby is Lake Aloha. This lake is so wonderful. There's pleasant hiking along the Hawley Grade Trail, and you'll probably meet                  some people from Gardnerville Ranchos here. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to American Lake with overnight lows in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at American Lake. American Lake is right by the Red Peak Trail, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Silver Creek - South Fork. At American Lake you can spot Cracked Crag, and a day at lovely Kiva Beach near American Lake is a great thing to do. This lake is so wonderful. Sierra at Tahoe has brilliant slopes and a friendly staff, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on American River - South Fork. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back over and over. Pistantes Coyote Den is a delightful place to get some rest. The amount of rainfall that falls at American Lake is close to the national average; most of the snow falls through January while July is ordinarily the driest month.
